the Right Rehabilitation

Specialized Rehabilitation for

Cerebellar Ataxia

Have you completed physical therapy or rehabilitation but still struggle with walking, balance, or frequent falls?

Cerebellar ataxia is one of the most complex neurological disorders. Because of its unique mechanisms, conventional rehabilitation approaches often fail to produce meaningful improvements.

At Dr. Park’s Ataxia Rehab Lab, we provide highly specialized, evidence-based rehabilitation designed specifically for cerebellar ataxia.

Why Choose Park's Ataxia Rehab Lab?

Our individualized programs are built on neuroscience, motor learning, and over 20 years of research and clinical experience to help improve balance, walking ability, and confidence in daily life.

Discover why ataxia rehabilitation requires a different approach and how the right strategy can make a meaningful difference.

Meet Dr. Jin-Hoon Park: Pioneering Evidence-Based Ataxia Rehabilitation

Dr. Jin-Hoon Park is a researcher and rehabilitation specialist dedicated to advancing evidence-based rehabilitation for cerebellar ataxia. With academic training at Korea University, Texas A&M University, and Arizona State University, and more than two decades of research and clinical collaboration in motor control, neuroscience, and neurological rehabilitation, he has devoted his career to developing innovative rehabilitation strategies that improve balance, gait, and functional independence for individuals with ataxia.

Combining scientific research, quantitative
motion analysis, and extensive clinical experience, Dr. Park is committed to
translating neuroscience into practical rehabilitation solutions that improve the lives of people living with cerebellar disorders.

Our Comprehensive, Stage-Based
Rehabilitation Approach

Effective rehabilitation for cerebellar ataxia
requires more than conventional exercise therapy.

 Our evidence-based program integrates
three complementary
 rehabilitation strategies through a
structured, stage-based approach
to restore balance, gait, and functional independence.

Strategy 3:
Transfer-of-Learning Rehabilitation

Learn how systematically training in varied and changing environments helps individuals with cerebellar ataxia adapt their balance and walking skills to real-world situations.

Strategy 1:
Explicit Motor Rehabilitation Training

Learn how consciously engaging the cerebral cortex through structured, attention-focused motor practice can improve walking stability and balance in individuals with cerebellar ataxia.

Strategy 2:
Reflexive Movement Enhancement Training

Learn how strengthening brainstem- based reflex pathways can restore automatic postural responses, improve reactive balance, and reduce fall risk in individuals with cerebellar ataxia.

Rehabilitation Program & Price

Program 1:  Comprehensive Rehabilitation

  • Duration:  Intensive 2-week course
  • Frequency:  6 sessions per week (Monday – Saturday)
  • Session Length:  90–120 minutes per session (tailored to patient capacity)
  • Price:  $2500

By completing this intensive two-week Comprehensive Rehabilitation program, you can expect significant and measurable improvements in your physical stability, enabling independent ambulation. Through our Explicit Motor Rehabilitation Training, you will systematically rebuild your static equilibium static equilibrium, achieve proper postural alignment, and restore dynamic balance control to secure a highly stable and functional gait.

Furthermore, our Reflexive Movement Enhancement Training—which integrates tailored fall-response and compensatory stepping techniques—will substantially enhance your fall prevention and coping capabilities. By rigorously strengthening your automatic protective mechanisms, this rehabilitation program empowers you with a resilient, real-world defense against sudden imbalances, ultimately equipping you with the reliable skills necessary to consistently prevent future falls.

Program 2:  Advanced Rehabilitation

  • Duration:  Intensive 4-week course
  • Frequency:  5 sessions per week (Monday – Friday)
  • Session Length:  90–120 minutes per session (tailored to patient capacity)
  • Price:  $4000

In addition to the recovery of physical balance, functional gait, and enhanced fall-coping capabilities, the 4-week Advanced Rehabilitation program will significantly cultivate your ability to adapt and apply motor skills acquired in a controlled clinical setting to diverse and unpredictable real-world conditions. This is achieved through the principles of Transfer of Learning (motor generalization).

Specifically, by systematically exposing you to dynamic environmental variables—such as differing obstacle heights, varying surface terrains, and complex multi-directional turning maneuvers—this advanced training ensures that your rehabilitated movement patterns remain robust, safe, and fully functional in your everyday life..

Our Clinical Commitment and Philosophy

Drawing upon our extensive experience in neurorehabilitation, we offer a uniquely specialized, evidence-based rehabilitation program that is strictly ataxia-specific. While various rehabilitation centers and online channels offer general advice or conventional methods for ataxia, we are distinguished as the only specialists with a proven track record of demonstrating real patient cases of improved walking ability and physical stability.

Because cerebellar conditions require highly precise and individualized interventions, every intensive training course is conducted through dedicated one-on-one sessions. This ensures that our proven programs are meticulously suited for patients with varying degrees of functional impairment.

Although our rehabilitation courses are designed with a fixed number of sessions, every minute is strategically optimized for your recovery, giving you the best value while achieving optimal results in your rehabilitation. We do not simply make promises; we are deeply committed to proving the efficacy of our care through clear, measurable, and life-changing results.
